The Arctic Trail ice frame is made by a Hollow Box T-extrusion. The hollow construction and the radius of the extrusion adds
strength to the overall construction of the frame. It’s a super solid and rigid blade holder.
Aluminium alloys are alloys in which aluminium (Al) is the predominant metal. The typical alloying elements are copper,
magnesium, manganese, silicon and zinc.
The 6061 aircraft aluminium we use for the Arctic Trail ice frame contains more magnesium and silizium which gives the
material more elasticity which is easy to work with. It has less tensile strength than 7000 series aluminium. The strength and
rigidity of the frames is created by the T6 heat treatment besides the overall construction.
The Arctic Trail ice frame is CNC machined to perfection made out of a solid and strong extrusion. The frame is prepared for
SNS and NNN bindings and is pre-drilled already on the front for an easy assembly of the bindings. The rear part of the bindings
can be also assembeled quite easy by using small nuts which can be slided into the channel of the frame from rear side. The
Arctic Trail ice frame is available with two different blades. The chromesteel blade in hardness HRC 60 glides smooth and is
perfect on the ice. More sportive skater will chose the Arctic Trail ice frame featuring the bi-metal blade in hardness HRC 64;
which is even stronger and faster. The Arctic Trail ice frame is available in 4 different lengths.
